New America's 9/11 Foundation Raffle Truck (yes, this year it's a truck!!!) a 2008 F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition Ford with a custom 9/11 paint job. Tickets still only $10.00

America's 9/11 Foundation Raffle Truck
It's a 2008 F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition Ford pick-up with a custom 9/11 paint job.

On the hood is a memorial to the Flight 93 Heroes, along with a pair of our symbols of freedom, the bald eagle clutching the American flag which is streaming down both sides of the truck. On the tailgate, the pentagon. There is a tonneau cover over the bed of the truck which has the background of the towers after the collapse and the silhouettes of a firefighter, police officer and an EMT walking from the rubble. Also on the tonneau cover are the names of each and every person that died that fateful day, all 2996 of them.

This is the vehicle we will be raffling off this year with the drawing being held in New York City at the end of America's 9/11 Ride on August 16th. Proceeds from this truck go directly to our college scholarship program for the children of active & disabled first responders across the country.

Tickets are still only $10.00 and are available at any of our show appearances as well as on our secure websites:

Who We Are:
America’s 9/11 Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization based out of Leesburg, VA. None of the foundation officers receive any monetary compensation for their time or efforts. In March 2005 the board of directors voted to modify the name from “America’s 9/11 Ride Foundation, Inc” to its current name, “America’s 9/11 Foundation, Inc”. This was done to expand the foundations fund raising events beyond the annual ride.

What We Do:
Annually host the largest fully dressed police escorted ride to all three of the September 11, 2001 sites. We are an AMA sanctioned, Commemorative Motorcycle Ride in Remembrance of those who Served, Protected, Lost their lives and to the Volunteers of September 11, 2001

Who we support:
America’s 9/11 Foundation’s mission is to give support to those men and women who each day place their lives on the line; our active police, fire and rescue units across America so that our families, homes, businesses and lives are protected.

What we have accomplished:
On November 10 and 11, 2001, eight weeks after the attacks on our country, more then 250+ motorcycles traveled from White House in Washington to Ground Zero in New York City in 28 degree weather. The purpose of this was two fold; one to remember the fallen by placing more then 1000 roses at Ground Zero, secondly to bring needed revenue to New York City. This ride had the privilege of two distinguished guests making the ride, Senator Ben Knight Horse Campbell of Colorado and the Surgeon General of the United States Navy, Vice Admiral Cowan. On this ride the participants spent more than $50,000 to boost New York’s economy during our short stay.

The 2nd Ride took place on August 23 & 24, 2002 and boasted more then 700 riders and a complement of 33+ Full Dressed Police Escorts. During this ride the foundation made donations in the amount of $18,500.00 to the various escorting Police and Fire Departments, including a $5,000.00 donation to the NYPD/PAPD Victims Fund.

The 3rd ride took place on August 22 & 23, 2003. On August 21st, the foundation placed a granite monument at the crash site of Flight 93 near Shanksville, Pa. The memorial honors the sacrifice made by the 40 brave individuals aboard Flight 93. On August 22nd, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department Precision Drill Team performed in front of the U.S. Capital for participants and visitors. Upon our arrival in New York City the foundation presented the Port Authority Police Department Superintendent with an American Flag that had been flown on a helicopter mission in Afghanistan by the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. ARMY and dedicated to the 9/11 Ride. Three 2003 Harley-Davidson Police Motorcycles were donated to the following Police Departments: Port Authority of New Jersey/New York, Arlington County Virginia and Fairfax County Virginia. The 2003 Ride became the largest police escorted ride in America, with over 140 uniformed officers on department motorcycles who joined us from as far away as Central Florida and Ontario Canada.

The 4th ride took place on August 20 & 21, 2004 and saw more then 1200 participants. On August 20 the Ontario Provincial Police Golden Helmets Precision Drill Team performed in front of the U.S. Capital for participants and visitors. Upon our arrival in New York the foundation raffled three Harley Davidson Motorcycles. A Custom 1200 Sportster for civilians, a Road King Peace Officer Special for police officers, a Road King Fire Fighter Edition for paid or volunteer Fire Fighters, Rescue and EMS personnel. A 2004 Harley Davidson Police motorcycle was donated to Ontario Provincial Police. This year the foundation created a t-shirt “Memory Never Forgotten”. 2000 of these t-shirts were taken to all three of the September 11 crash sites and signed by more then 40,000 people along the way. In New York these shirts were presented to the Calvary from Fort Hood Texas and Marines from Camp Lejeune North Carolina for delivery to the troops in IRAQ.

This year the 5th annual ride took place on August 19 and 20th, 2005. Over 1000 riders and 120 uniformed police escorts returned to all three of the sacred sites to pay tribute to those lost. For the first time the ride took a route through the historic town of Leesburg, Virginia, home of the foundations founders and were greeted by townsfolk on both sides of the street waving flags and other patriotic symbols. This year the University of Pittsburgh Police won the 2006 Harley Davidson Police motorcycle. The 2004 raffles earned funds to allow the foundation to present four $3,000 college scholarship checks to children of active/disabled police, fire and rescue families. The 2006 raffle bike “9/11 Tribute Chopper” was unveiled in New York City and one person purchased all the raffle tickets to take possession of the bike. A second “9/11 Tribute Chopper” is under construction and will be completed by January 2006.

Future goals:
Continue to distribute college scholarships to family members of the Police, Fire and EMS personnel. We would like to be an accessible resource for emergency personnel seeking funding assistance and assist to replace often out dated and necessary equipment and tools. The funds we generate through motorcycle rides, raffles and sale of merchandise will help us in this endeavor. Further, we intend to expand into other areas of fund raising in 2006. This past fall we put on our first annual 5K walk-a-thon in Leesburg, Virginia. In early 2006 we intend to hold an auction in New York City to raise funds for yet another endeavor the foundation has taken on; disaster recovery. The hurricanes Katrina and Rita saw the foundation mobilize and deliver goods to the Gulf region. It is the intent to continue to expand our disaster recovery mission by coming to the aid of active police, fire and rescue families devastated by the hurricanes.

To continue to attain our goals we need corporate sponsorship. You can assist us in various ways by becoming a sponsor and all donations are Fully Tax Deductible. Please contact me to discuss ways in which we can work together to support those who protect us all. As a representative of a growing foundation, I look forward to any assistance you or your company can provide. On behalf of the foundation and all it supports I thank you for your consideration.

God bless you and America!

September 11th Families Launch National Media Campaign FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - CONTACT: Edith Lutnick (212) 294-7852 January 24, 2007

September 11th Families Kick-off National Campaign Appealing to the American People to Urge Change at Ground Zero Memorial

New York, N.Y., January 24, 2007 - Family members of relatives lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 representing major 9/11 family organizations held a press conference today in New York City and unveiled a national media campaign asking the American people to help them “Save the 9/11 Memorial” at Ground Zero. Family leaders object to current plans that will list most of the names of 2,979 people who perished in the attacks of 2001 and 1993 without reference to age, affiliation, location and, in the case of uniformed service members, rank. The group plans to place 60 second television ads in New York City markets.

The campaign’s first ad, entitled “Missing at the Memorial,” features the familiar images of the missing flyers which were posted all over New York City in the attack’s immediate aftermath by relatives of the victims and which identified their loved ones by age, company, and floor location in the World Trade Center. The flyers became the first spontaneous memorials embraced by the public. The ad says that Mayor R. Bloomberg, chairman of the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, wants a “cold, random list of names.” Families and former co-workers contend that the current plan to list victims without any personal references, and in an order intended to appear random, robs victims of the human qualities that rallied and sustained the nation. The 9/11 groups believe that narrative information associated with the names will enable future generations to better appreciate how the historic attacks were actually experienced by the country.

“We do not accept that these people died ‘randomly,’ or ‘in no discernable order’ which to future visitors will be exactly the same thing,” said Edith Lutnick, whose brother Gary, 36, worked for the firm of Cantor Fitzgerald on the 104th floor of the North Tower. “Turning human beings into featureless casualties is a distortion of history. Instead of conveying the story of 9/11, this memorial will express the dark point of view of the terrorists who murdered them.”

Family members believe that leaving the 2,400 mostly civilian victims without affiliations and in no discernable order, creates a two-tier memorial consisting of flesh and blood people on the one hand and anonymous casualties on the other. The disparity is particularly painful for families of more than 1,000 victims whose remains were never recovered.

The families and representatives of uniformed service associations contend that World Trade Center Memorial Foundation is building an extravagant memorial that will not resonate with visitors because it does not convey the attacks in personal terms. They believe that leaving the civilians without identification diminishes the noble sacrifice of first responders because it ignores the people whom they gave their lives to save.

Family members said that identifying group affiliations for New York City first responders is a step in the right direction, but stripping them of their rank is a slap in the face to their service and sacrifice. 100 officers, including Chief of the Department Peter J. Ganci, Jr. were among the 343 members of the FDNY who perished.

“My brother, Capt. Billy Burke with Engine 21, didn’t send his men into those towers,” said Michael Burke, who spoke at the press conference, “he led them in. And he did not leave, telling a friend who begged him to get out after tower two fell, ‘This is my job, this is who I am.’ How will visitors get a sense of that, if we don’t tell them?”

Family organizers, survivors and representatives of uniformed service personnel are asking the public to come to the website, Save the Memorial, and sign their online petition asking that the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation list the names of the victims in the manner leaders of 32 family groups and representative supported in a 2004 agreement.
